What should your bring on a paddling trip besides your paddle and boat?

Below is a list in progress, feel free to recommend some additions:

For slow rivers you'll want to bring the following items:

    PFD (lifevest)
    Water
    Lunch/snacks
Change of clothes for when you dump your boat (it will happen eventually)
    Sunscreen
Sunglasses (glare of the sun on water can be blinding)
    Gloves
Hat to block sun and or warm hat during cold weather
Croakies (holds your glasses/sunglasses on in case you fall in)
    Mosquito repellant (summer)
    First Aid Kit
    Towel
    Whistle/noisemaker
wetsuit/drysuit depending on the water temperature

For sea kayaking out in open water you'll also want the following:
sea kayak with sealed bow and stern bulkheads (not a rec kayak that sinks after capsizing)
    paddle float
    spare paddle
bilge pump (manual for flat water with a automatic being preferred for rough water)
    flares
    VHF radio
    pogies, gloves
