This is the location of the private improved landing used by Fever River Outifitters for launches of the upper section of the Galena River. Launch must be arranged/paid through this business, and they will shuttle your own boat(or rent canoes and single/tandem kayaks) to this location, trip ends at parking lot about 50 yards from their store on Main St in Galena, on opposite side of tunnel under US20, river right on downstream trip. Very convenient service and great to end trip with dinner in Galena.

This is the "official" city boat launch, but no good reason to launch a boat here(the ramp is quite nice, who wants to pay to park though?) park on the other side of the river for free, even on some of the busiest weekends. This is the trailhead for a 3.4 mile dead-end crushed rock bike trail along the river south of town.

This location is hidden quite a bit from the tourist traffic, so parking can be available even on the busiest weekends in Galena.

This is the end of the Buckhill Trip from Fever River Outfitters, or can be a out and back launch, since the current here is quite mild. Between the two pedestrian bridges water can be as shallow as a foot(for a small stretch), otherwise trip upstream of here is deep water for quite a while.

Downstream a couple hours from here is a Mississippi slough marina that can be paddled to as well. See description of this trip at Fever River Outfitters site too. Shop there too, supplies, books, boats, info, they are good people.
